Daily Bread: Focusing On God

Haggai 2:14 Expanded Bible (EXB)

14 Then Haggai answered, “The Lord says, ‘This is also true for the people of this nation. They are ·unclean [defiled], and everything they do with their hands is unclean to me. Whatever they offer at the altar is also ·unclean [defiled].

Inspiration:

When God gives a warning, if you receive it or not it is going to come to pass (Ezekiel 2:5). The Bible tells us that His word will not return void. Sin leads to death, and it has consequences. Be mindful of how you treat other people in your day to day life, you never know who is watching you.

Prayer:

Dear Lord Heavenly Father,

I ask and I pray for wisdom for my daily routine. Help me to walk in Christ like character so that I will give you  honor in my behavior. Help me to love and concentrate, and to remove all distractions from my faith walk. In Jesus Name, I pray. Thank God, Amen.

Daily Bread: For God So Loved The World

Haggai 1:11 Expanded Bible (EXB)

11 I have called for a ·time without rain [drought] on the land, and on the ·mountains [hill country], and on the grain, the new wine, the olive oil, the plants which the earth produces, the people, the ·farm animals [livestock], and all the work of your hands.”

Inspiration:

Many times when we face persecution we automatically assume its some wicked or foreign attack. Some warfare is a wake-up call, that God is trying to get your attention. When we face adversity, we must pause in his presence ask the Lord what he may be showing you in this season.

Prayer:

Dear Lord Heavenly Father,

Help me not to vent my feelings. I rebuke all feelings of jealousy and rage that may lead me to sin. Help me to focus on You and what is important in my day to day life. Help me to trust You through all of my hard times. In Jesus’ Name, I pray. Thank God, Amen.

Daily Bread: Trusting God During Hard Times

40 When they asked, he brought them quail
and filled them with bread from heaven [Ex. 16].
41 God ·split [L opened] the rock, and water flowed out;
it ran like a river through the ·desert [wasteland; Ex. 17:1–7].

Daily Bread: God Is A Good God

Psalm 105:15 The Message (MSG)

7-15 He’s God, our God,
in charge of the whole earth.
And he remembers, remembers his Covenant—
for a thousand generations he’s been as good as his word.
It’s the Covenant he made with Abraham,
the same oath he swore to Isaac,
The very statute he established with Jacob,
    the eternal Covenant with Israel,
Namely, “I give you the land.
    Canaan is your hill-country inheritance.”
When they didn’t count for much,
a mere handful, and strangers at that,
Wandering from country to country,
    drifting from pillar to post,
He permitted no one to abuse them.
He told kings to keep their hands off:
“Don’t you dare lay a hand on my anointed,
don’t hurt a hair on the heads of my prophets.”

Inspiration:

There is so much required to be a leader of the gospel. A lot of trials and tribulations. Today, instead of being jealous of your leaders why don’t you pray for their wellbeing? Focus more on the good than the bad, and if you do not have a good leader remove yourself from that situation. Amen.

Prayer:

Dear Lord Heavenly Father,

Help me today not to murmur. Help me to rely on your strength and to focus on You. You hold my wellbeing in the palm of your hand. You keep me in perfect peace. Give me the strength to pray for my leaders and to be an encouragement, not a hinderance. In Jesus Name, I pray. Thank God, Amen.

Daily Bread: For God So Loved The World

Proverbs 14:12-13 The Message (MSG)

12-13 There’s a way of life that looks harmless enough;
look again—it leads straight to hell.
Sure, those people appear to be having a good time,
but all that laughter will end in heartbreak.

Inspiration:

God helps the orphans and the widows. He is kind to those who love him (Proverbs 8). Today be careful of how you treat other believers. Be mindful of what you say, how you are, and how you treat other people. The Bible says touch not my anointed and do my prophets no harm (Psalms 105:15). You reap what you sow. Remember there are earthly consequences for your actions. Amen.

Prayer:

Dear Lord Heavenly Father,

Help me to be mindful of those who are less fortunate. Help me to completely rely on You, and not in my own strength. Help me to remember that You are a miracle working God. Help me to focus on the plan you have for my life (John 10:10).  In Jesus Name, I pray. Thank God, Amen.
