DAILY BREAD DEVOTION

Morning Verse :

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this? – John 11:26

Inspiration :

He who lives and believes in Jesus shall never die. Physically, that could mean that we only “sleep,” so to speak, until the resurrection. But spiritually, it would refer to the fact that those whom God has given spiritual life in Christ can never lose it.

Prayer :

You, Lord, are the one who will raise my mortal body or rapture and change on the Day of Christ. You, Lord, also are the one who has raised my sin-dead soul to spiritual life and will never let it die again. I praise You that I am eternally secure, being kept by the power of God unto salvation.

DO YOU HAVE THE FRIDAY BLUES ?

I’m glad in God, far happier than you would ever guess—happy that you’re again showing such strong concern for me. Not that you ever quit praying and thinking about me. You just had no chance to show it. Actually, I don’t have a sense of needing anything personally. I’ve learned by now to be quite content whatever my circumstances. I’m just as happy with little as with much, with much as with little. I’ve found the recipe for being happy whether full or hungry, hands full or hands empty. Whatever I have, wherever I am, I can make it through anything in the One who makes me who I am. I don’t mean that your help didn’t mean a lot to me—it did. It was a beautiful thing that you came alongside me in my troubles.

There Is Alot Going On At The Moment

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that there is alot of death and plague sweeping the land. For some it can be easy to fall into a state of depression and worry wondering if you’re going to be ok. There is so much fear sweeping the world… but my question is… Do you have faith in God ?

The Power Of Prayer

In the Bible whenever there was a crisis, the children of Israel praised and gave thanks to God (2 Chronicles 20). In this crisis we as Christian’s need to come with the viewpoint of Jesus Christ. We must stay focused, and strap our bootstraps in prayer . We should always remember that God does hear the prayers of His children. Amen.

Prayer

Remind us Jesus that You have us wrapped in your loving arms. Keep us safe and in the garment of praise. Amen.

Sincerely,

DAILY BREAD DEVOTION : RECOGNIZING JESUS AS THE MESSIAH

Did you ever study Geometry? Maybe there’s another subject or procedure that you found difficult to understand. We can learn all the rules, but until we actually see how they work, we don’t get it. When I was beginning to learn how to use a computer, the person trying to teach me said that you just to this and then that and it will work. Then he left, and I had no idea about what he had just said. I needed step by step instruction while I did the work. Jesus has told the apostles that he would suffer, die and rise again. They didn’t understand. They had been taught about the Messiah and what was written about him in the Scriptures, but they still didn’t recognize Jesus as the Messiah. Now, Jesus sat with them and reminded them of everything he had told them. He also pointed out the passages in Scripture that referred to him so that they would be able to teach others. After all, you can’t teach what you don’t understand. I can’t point out all of the passages in the prophets or the psalms that refer to Jesus, although I do know some of the ones from Micah, Isaiah, and the psalms, especially psalm 22. Once reminded, I’m sure the apostles could see the connections. Jesus knew that it was a lot to grasp at once and for that reason he had promised to send the Holy Spirit to help them. We, too, have the Holy Spirit to help us to understand the teachings of Jesus. All we need is to call upon him as Jesus tells us.

Lord, you knew that the apostles still needed guidance if they were to understand that Jesus was in fact the Messiah. He helped them by opening their minds and hearts to the Scriptures so that they could help us understand and believe. For all this, we are grateful. Amen.
